Abia State University Professor's Suspension Over Welfare Comments Condemned

The Abia State University (ABSU) management has suspended Professor Nnamdi Nwaeze following social media posts where he claimed that commercial tricycle riders earn more than professors, noting that ABSU professors take home less than ₦400,000 monthly. The suspension has drawn condemnation from both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State. The APC described the action as an assault on fundamental rights and an intolerance of constructive criticism regarding workers' welfare, while the PDP expressed solidarity with the embattled lecturer for advocating for university community rights.
