ASUU Authorises Strike in PLASU and 12 Other Universities Over 2025 Agreement

CampusWatch Network
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has authorised its branches at Plateau State University, Bokkos (PLASU), and 12 other federal and state-owned universities to begin processes leading to industrial action. The decision follows the government's non-implementation of the December 2025 agreement and haphazard financial implementation across institutions. ASUU's National Executive Council announced the resolution after a meeting at the University of Abuja, citing inadequate government funding, unpaid promotion arrears, the 25/35 per cent wage award, and outstanding salaries from previous strikes. The impending strikes threaten to disrupt academic calendars and day-to-day campus life for students across the affected universities.
