The management and Senate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, have approved the reinstatement of students suspended over events linked to a campus protest earlier this year.
The decision has drawn praise from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, which had actively engaged the institution on the matter after raising concerns about the disciplinary measures imposed on the affected students.
NANS Southwest described the reinstatement as a significant step toward balancing discipline with students’ welfare and academic continuity.
The association commended the university leadership for reconsidering the matter and responding to appeals from students and stakeholders.
The student body also recognized the contributions of the Dean of Student Affairs and NANS National President, Comr. Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, in efforts that helped facilitate discussions surrounding the case.
With the issue now resolved, NANS Southwest called on students to continue promoting peaceful engagement and responsible participation in campus affairs.
