The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone, has joined the league of well-wishers to celebrate the Executive Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Governor Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, as he marks his 66th birthday today, May 13th, 2026.
In a statement released to Campus Watch by the Zonal Coordinator, Comrade Adeyemo Josiah Kayode (BILLIONCODES), the student body described the Governor as a visionary leader whose “uncommon humanity” has transformed the landscape of governance in Osun State.
Restoring Confidence in Education
According to the statement, Governor Adeleke’s tenure has been a “shining symbol of hope,” particularly for the academic community. NANS Southwest praised the administration’s aggressive approach to infrastructural development and student welfare, which they say has restored lost confidence in public leadership.
“History will remain kind to you for creating an atmosphere where young people can dream again, grow again, and believe again in the future of Osun State and Nigeria at large,” Comrade Adeyemo stated.
Empowering Young Leaders
The Zonal Coordinator, who is himself an indigene of Osun State, noted that the emergence of the current NANS Southwest leadership from the state is a testament to the enabling environment and inspiration provided by the Adeleke government. He characterized the Governor as a “beloved symbol of joy” who remains accessible to the masses.
“The leadership of NANS Southwest proudly identifies with your achievements and appreciates your unwavering support for youth inclusiveness and educational growth,” the statement read.
A Call for Continued Service
As Governor Adeleke celebrates his 66th year, NANS Southwest (representing students across Osun, Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti) offered prayers for his continued well-being. The association wished the Governor “greater strength, sound health, and wisdom” to continue his service to humanity and the progress of the education sector.
The birthday tribute concludes by affirming the Governor’s status as a transformational leader who has bridged the gap between the government and the governed.
